Politicians sometimes accuse members of the media of taking jabs at them. But now is seems members of Rep. Michele Bachmann’s team are the ones taking jabs at reporters … well, at least one in particular. CNN anchor Don Lemon is claiming that he was a victim of a little elbow grease by Marcus Bachmann, Michele’s husband, and some of her entourage at the Iowa State Fair on Friday afternoon.
“There were other reporters and cameras there. And I asked her very respectful questions: ‘How do you think you did in the debate last night?’ and ‘How do you think you’re going to end up in the Ames straw poll?’ And her two campaign aides started elbowing me,” Lemon told CNN.

A CNN camera crew captured the incident on tape and posted the video on the network’s website. In the video, you can’t see Lemon being shoved, but you can clearly hear him asking Bachmann’s entourage to stop shoving him. “You’re elbowing me. Don’t elbow me, that’s rude. You’re elbowing me. Stop it,” Lemon says. A few seconds later, you can hear him ask someone in the Bachmann camp to back off again. “Why are you pushing me? Excuse me, why are you pushing me?” Lemon asks.
Lemon told CNN that Marcus Bachmann pushed him into a golf cart and claims that when he confronted Marcus, Marcus told him that Lemon did it to himself.
Bachmann’s camp didn’t respond to our request for comment but told CNN that they “were just trying to get her out” so she could attend other events at the fair.
