Trying to pick a winner to our “Interview with a Celebrity” wasn?t easy. In fact, it was so hard that Examiner judges decided to split the honor between two very deserving winners ? Matthew Lorber, a fifth-grader at Glyndon Elementary School in Reisterstown, and Tory Nymick, a seventh-grader at Notre Dame Preparatory School in Baltimore.

Both Matthew and Tory get to interview a celebrity of their choice, which will be published in the Kids? Clubhouse. Here are excerpts from the winning entries:

Matthew Lorber

Interview with his teacher, Ms. Bridget Singleton

Q If you weren?t a teacher, what would you be and why?

A I would use my musical talent in some way. I love music and I love how music makes people

feel better.

Q Whose autograph would you like to have and why?

A Abraham Lincoln, because he helped see equality, helped free slaves and was a great leader. He was an honest man.

Q If you knew tomorrow was the last day of your life, what would you do?

A I would spend the day with my family and friends remembering the things that we?ve done together.

Tory Nymick

Interview with her teacher, Ms. Elizabeth Pennington:

Q What do you like most about your job?

A I like that I get to learn something new from my students every day.

Q What is the best and worst thing that ever happened to you?

A The best thing that happened was that I got to travel to Europe to study. I don?t think I?ve had anything really bad happen ? I like to focus on the good things.

Q Do you have any embarrassing moments?

A Once in class we were playing a game where we had to throw stuff at the board, and one kid hit me in the head with a banana!
