The medical examiner’s office has identified taxi passenger who burned to death after attempting to rob the cab driver.
The suspect was 30-year-old Jacqueline Renee Savoy, of Lothian, Md., Prince George’s County police said.
About 5 p.m. Friday, a taxi driver picked up Savoy from the Largo Metro station and took her to the 4200 block of Northview Drive in Bowie. Savoy demanded the driver’s money while holding combustible material. The material ignited, and she caught fire, police spokeswoman Officer Edward Martin said.
The cab driver jumped out of the vehicle and suffered minor injuries.
