A former D.C. office of technology employee was sentenced to 14 months in prison for his role in a bribery and kickback scheme.
Farrukh Awan, 38, admitted that he asked government contractor Sushil Bansal for cash in exchange for approving contracting jobs for Bansal’s company.
Bansal, chief executive of District-based Advanced Integrated Technologies Corp., was sentenced to 20 months behind bars last week.
Awan’s boss, Yusuf Acar, the ringleader and former acting head security officer for the D.C. Office of the Chief Technology Officer, is expected to plead guilty Thursday.
