Earth, Wind & Fire to RNC: Stop using our music

Earth, Wind & Fire has joined a growing list of musicians who are unhappy that the Republican Party is using their music at the Republican National Convention.

“Another unauthorized use (September) at the Republican Convention, against our wishes,” the group tweeted Tuesday night.

The Republican National Convention’s house band played a cover of the band’s hit “September” on the convention floor as the Alaskan delegation disputed the allocation of its 28 votes to newly-crowned GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.

The band quoted a Tuesday morning tweet from rock band Queen, which said it was displeased that the RNC used its song “We Are the Champions,” which played Monday night as Donald Trump entered the convention hall.

“An unauthorized use at the Republican Convention against our wishes,” Queen’s account tweeted.

Other musicians who have complained include the Rolling Stones, Adele and Neil Young.
