SAN DIEGO UNION TRIBUNE – DOWNTOWN SAN DIEGO – The San Diego City Council heard from more than two dozen city residents Friday afternoon split on whether it should approve a deal that would see scandal-ridden Mayor Bob Filner agree to resign 263 days after taking office.
After taking nearly an hour of public testimony, the council adjourned for a closed-door session to consider the pending agreement that would limit Filner’s legal and financial exposure stemming from a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by a former aide.
