CNN commentator: ‘Badge of honor’ to be called ‘pathetic’ by Trump

Republican strategist and CNN commentator Ana Navarro supports Jeb Bush for president and only has bad things to say in her TV appearances about Bush’s rival, Donald Trump. For that, Trump called Navarro “pathetic” in an extensive New York Times profile.

“Badge of honor,” Navarro said Tuesday in an email to the Washington Examiner media desk.

In the Times profile, Trump, who currently ranks first in the Examiner‘s latest power rankings, is described as watching political analysts on cable news weighing in on his candidacy.

Trump describes Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly as “great to me.” He calls Kevin Madden, another CNN contributor and a former adviser to Mitt Romney a “pure Romney guy.”

For Navarro: “So bad, so pathetic, awful — I don’t know why she’s on television.”

Trump regularly strikes back at media personalities and reporters who criticize him or dismiss him as an unserious candidate.

In June, just after Trump announced his run for the White House, MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell said supporters of the real estate developer “have failed an intelligence test.” Trump responded, “Nobody listens to [him] because his show is dead.”

From the start, Navarro has led her own campaign against Trump. On the day he announced his presidential ambitions, Navarro said on CNN, “If we want entertainment, go watch TV. But what we want is a president, and he just does not have the qualifications.”
