Bachmann can’t be bullied

If Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., had a migraine at the National Press Club luncheon on Thursday afternoon, we sure couldn’t tell. The GOP presidential hopeful spoke strongly about the debt ceiling and how she feels that President Obama spends recklessly and has failed to resolve the nation’s financial crisis. It wasn’t all business — she also shared a few personal stories with the packed house.

Bachmann revealed that she prefers to watch and read what the left-wing media are reporting before looking and listening to what the right-wing reporters have to say. She said her favorite left-wing media outlets are MSNBC and Huffington Post.

When asked if she thinks the media are tough on her, the congresswoman with the self-proclaimed “titanium spine” said she knew when she decided to run for president that the journey would be tough, but she can take it.

“I think that I have had a rare advantage and that’s because when I grew up I had three brothers and no sisters and there is no better preparation for politics that a girl can ever have than that. One thing the boys in my family learned very quickly is don’t pick on your sister, it’s not going to work.”
