Games to look out for in ’07

The end of 2006 made gaming news as people all over the country were clamoring to score a Wii or Playstation 3, but the news in ’07 won’t be the systems, it’ll be the games. Here are a few titles you can look forward to in the coming year:

Halo 3

The supposed final installment to the epic sci-fi shooter series will be the first of the Halo games to appear on the 360. As the Covenant take the fight to Earth, you play as Master Chief and bring the hurt to the alien menace.New weapons, better graphics and their fan-favorite multiplayer battles will make this one of the hottest titles of ’07.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

The sequel to Nintendo’s best-selling game for Gamecube, Brawl will bring a new cast to the Super Smashing fun. Old Nintendo heroes Mario, Link and Pikachu will return along with Solid Snake from Metal Gear, Pit from Kid Ikarus and Mario’s gassy acquaintance, Wario.

Grand Theft Auto IV

One of the most important gaming franchises of all time, the new installment of “Grand Theft Auto” will include a deal with Xbox Live to provide episodic content updates, making the already overpowering replay value even harder to ignore.

Golden Axe

One of the best titles on the original Sega Genesis will be making a comeback on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 later this year. As in the original games, you play a band of warriors who use their strength and magic to battle evil forces that want to destroy you, but with new technology comes entirely new types of gameplay.

Brooktown High: Senior Year

Regret who you went to prom with? Too shy to date in high school? Here’s your chance to rewrite your past and be the coolest kid in school. Konami’s PSP dating sim will challenge you to make the right friends to get the girl or guy you always wanted in high school.
