TSN hockey guru Bob McKenzie reporting that Caps forward Michael Nylander needs only to give his approval for a loan to a Russian team to get done. Out at Kettler now trying to track down confirmation if and when Nylander gives the go-ahead. Should hear from general manager George McPhee soon. Nylander has backed out of deals before at the last minute – most notably a free-agent contract with Edmonton in 2007 where both sides traded barbs after the fact on whether there was – or was not – a deal. He, of course, signed with Washington instead. A move to Europe would clear a decent chunk of money for the Caps to make trades later this season or even bring up top prospects from the minors. Nylander will still have a year left on his contract with Washington at $3 million.
