Man gets 37-year sentence for carjackings

An Oxon Hill man was sentenced to 37 years in prison Friday for carjacking multiple cars at gunpoint in the Washington area.

A jury found Terrell E. Roberson, 22, guilty in June of committing four carjackings in October 2009 in Temple Hills and Oxon Hill in Maryland and Alexandria. Roberson was convicted on two counts of carjacking, two counts of using a firearm in a carjacking and four counts of interstate transportation of stolen vehicles.

He was sentenced in federal court in Alexandria by U.S. District Judge Claude M. Hilton.
