A magistrate judge has warned 14 current and former D.C. officials that his investigation into the possible destruction of evidence from mass arrests during the 2002 World Bank and the International Monetary Fund protests could result in criminal prosecution.
U.S. District Judge John Facciola said he is “duty-bound” to alert the group that issues of obstruction of justice, perjury and destruction of evidence may arise. Facciola said he plans to question the officials, which include former D.C. police chief Charles Ramsey, an assistant attorney general and D.C. police attorneys. — AP
