A Harford County teenager proved to the nation that she’s got talent, but apparently not enough to win the television competition.
Julienne Irwin was eliminated from competition in the final episode of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” that aired Wednesday night.
The 14-year-old Bel Air native had a final, live performance alongside 17-year-old country singer Taylor Swift before finding out that she was the first of the final four to be cut.
“Being my last performance, it’s great to end it with such a big bang,” Irwin said of her performance in a pre-recorded interview.
After she and Swift sang a duet of “Teardrops on my Guitar,” Swift complimented Irwin for her “adorable personality” and humility.
Votes from last weeks’ episode were tallied to determine this episode’s winners and the winner of the $1 million prize. Athough Irwin was eliminated, she said she was pleased with how far she came.
“I’m not upset by this at all… This journey has already far exceeded my expectations,” she said.
