Military helicopter crashes in southern Maryland

An Army helicopter from Fort Belvoir made a hard landing near Leonardtown, Md. on Monday afternoon, sending one crew member to the hospital, an Army spokesman said.

The UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter was carrying three crew members when it went down on a local golf course around 1:50 p.m., according to Fort Belvoir and news reports.

There was no immediate update on the status of the crew member who was life-flighted following the incident and the Army did not release any additional information.
