Andrea Mitchell said on NBC this morning that there are “serious problems” with Chuck Hagel, who is rumored to be nominated as secretary of defense:

“What Senator Schumer said was really very, very revealing,” said Mitchell, referring to Schumer’s decision not to commit to support a Hagel nomination. “If a Democratic senator is not going to come to Chuck Hagel’s defense, then I think there is serious problems there.”
“He did not come to his defense,” NBC host David Gregory said Schumer’s remarks on Hagel.
“The problem that Chuck Hagel has is … he’s now getting shot at from the left and the right because of his past comments, which he has now retracted and apologized for against gays,” Mitchell explained on NBC.
