SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — The state Court of Appeals has thrown out attempts by Republican Gov. Susana Martinez’s administration to loosen the state’s green building codes.
In a ruling last week, the court said the Construction Industries Commission failed to give a reason when it overturned the energy efficiency rules that had been enacted under former Gov. Bill Richardson, a Democrat.

Developers had argued the standards made it too expensive to build in New Mexico.
The Albuquerque Journal reports (http://bit.ly/10S7mEC ) the court sent the issue back to the CIC “for reconsideration, a new vote, and a statement of reasons for the vote, preferably in writing.”
