Hangin' with the Dems

The members of the Democratic National Committee's Rules and Bylaws panel, which is set to help decide the fate of the Democratic race for president on Saturday, is meeting for drinks tonight at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Northwest Washington.

The Marriott is also hosting the Saturday meeting, at which busloads of protesters are anticipated.

Panel member Donna Brazile said the 30 members of the Rules and Bylaws subcommittee always socialize the night before they hold a formal meeting.

Brazile did not exactly extend an invitation to reporters for tonight's gathering, but didn't prohibit them from attending, either.

"They'll have to either pay for their cocktails or leave the room," she said.
