If you were hoping that the weekend’s cooler temperatures would continue, tough luck.
Temperatures in the D.C. area will once again be in the 90s this week, according to forecasters, and thunderstorms may also occur.
The National Weather Service is predicting high temperatures in the low- and mid-90s during the work week and on Sunday. Saturday is expected to be the coolest day in the week, with a high of 89 degrees.
Forecasters are also predicting possible showers and thunderstorms for this afternoon, Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday night, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. However, on each of those days, the chance of precipitation is less than 50 percent.
