Fox’s Chris Wallace: ‘Not really sure we’ve accomplished a lot’ in impeachment testimony

Fox News anchor Chris Wallace questioned whether the House Judiciary Committee was accomplishing anything during today’s testimony.

Daniel Goldman, the House Judiciary Committee lawyer for the Democrats, and Stephen Castor, the lawyer for the Republicans, presented evidence about the president’s actions in regards to Ukraine in front of the committee.

“Well, everything has been said, but it hasn’t been said by everyone, and so we’re going to continue,” Wallace began. “I’m not really sure we’ve accomplished a lot all day. But certainly in these last couple of hours. You could make the argument that in his opening statement that Dan Goldman, the chief counsel for the Intelligence Committee, laid out the case over 45 minutes as to the case against President Trump and the reasons that he should be impeached, and that, conversely, Steve Castor, the acting counsel for the Intelligence Committee for Republicans made the case why he shouldn’t impeached.”

“I’m not sure we’re changing any minds here,” he went on before explaining that many of the votes that have occurred during the hearing have been split down party lines. Earlier in the network’s coverage of the hearing, Wallace pushed back on former independent counsel Ken Starr and claimed that the investigation into the president is much broader than the investigation into President Bill Clinton was.
