Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, stirred controversy this week after he cut short a speech at a gala event hosted by In Defense of Christians, an advocacy group dedicated to the protection of Christian communities in the Middle East.

Cruz ended his speech Wednesday evening after a handful of attendees booed his praise for Israel, prompting harsh words of criticism from the Texas senator.
