Metro trains are again running normally after a smoke sighting temporarily closed the Gallery Place and Metro Center stations to Red Line train
traffic.
Metro spokeswoman Cathy Asato said a debris fire was the likely culprit. Red Line trains were stopped and turned around at the Farragut North and Judiciary Square stations. Shuttle buses carried passengers around the closures.
Asato said the stations remained open to Blue and Orange Line traffic, and were closed to Red Line trains from about 9:45 to 10:35 this morning.
