It only took about 15 minutes for Prince George’s firefighters to douse a house fire in Lanham Saturday morning.
Firefighters got word of the fire at 7200 Patterson Street just before 10 a.m. They made sure no one was inside and put out the fire, which was devouring a first-floor kitchen and back deck.
Two adults escaped from the fire without injury. Five people normally live at the house, officials said. The cause of the fire and the amount of damage to the house have not yet been determined. The county’s Citizen Services Unit is helping the residents find somewhere else to stay while waiting for repairs.
