Carmelo Anthony hasn’t made any indication publicly that he wants to leave Denver, but according to reports it’s a foregone conclusion that he won’t be with the Nuggets for the 2011 season. So where would be the best place for Melo to land?
5. New Jersey Nets » The Nets have some nice young pieces — Devin Harris, Brook Lopez and Derrick Favors — but the real attraction is new Russian billionaire owner Mikhail Prokhorov and the team’s future move to Brooklyn, Anthony’s birthplace.

4. Houston Rockets » Luis Scola and Shane Battier do all the dirty work, so Melo could just focus on scoring, which is what he does best. With Yao Ming struggling with injuries, Houston could use a new face of the franchise.
3. Chicago Bulls » This could happen with the Bulls trading Luol Deng. With Melo added to a roster that already consists of Derrick Rose, Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah, the Bulls could compete with the talents in South Beach.
2. Denver Nuggets » After the debacle that was “The Decision,” it would be nice to see a superstar like Melo stay with the team that drafted him and ride it through. This may also be his best decision financially.
1. New York Knicks » LeBron James missed the opportunity to be the savior in New York. If Melo comes to Madison Square Garden, he could save the franchise, return to his birthplace (although he claims Baltimore as home) and join a Mike D’Antoni system that would inflate his already high scoring average. Seems like a perfect match.
