‘Game of Thrones’ renewed for a third season

All it took was two episodes in to season two of “Game of Thrones” for HBO to renew the series for a third season. Both episodes of the current season brought in high ratings, averaging 3.9 million viewers per episode so far. The third season will reportedly be based on George R.R. Martin’s third novel in the Game of Thrones series.
