WOODBURY, N.Y. (AP) — Police have identified a man who was found floating face down in a public pool on Long Island.
Nassau County police say 44-year-old Jonathan Sobel, of Woodbury, was swimming at the main pool at Syosset Woodbury Park Sunday when “a short time later” his body was found face down in the water.
Police say lifeguards on duty pulled the man out of the pool and performed CPR. The victim was then taken to North Shore Syosset Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
The investigation is continuing.
