Another solid outing, another no decision for Orioles starting pitcher Jeremy Guthrie. The rookie right-hander allowed three runs on nine hits over 6 2/3 innings against the Minnesota Twins, but the bullpen couldn?t hold on to the 4-3 lead he left with in the seventh inning.
Shortstop Alexi Casilla?s eighth inning sacrifice fly proved to be the difference as the Twins scored four runs in the final two innings against the Orioles bullpen in a 7-4 come-from-behind win Friday night in front of an announced crowd of 29,742 at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

Guthrie now remains winless since July 27 and has 12 no decisions in 22 starts this season.
The Twins did most of their damage off of Orioles relievers Jim Hoey and Danys Baez, who combined allowed four runs in 1/3 of an inning. Hoey allowed his runs in the eighth while Baez allowed a two-run homerto outfielder Torii Hunter in the ninth.
It appeared early on that Guthrie would be well on his way toward picking up his eighth win of the year when the Orioles scored three times in the bottom of the first inning after shortstop Miguel Tejada and right fielder Nick Markakis each belted homers off of Twins ace Johan Santana, the reigning Cy Young Award winner.
Tejada got the offense going when he hit a 420-foot, two-run homer to left center field. That hit drove in center fielder Corey Patterson, who singled right before Tejada came to the plate.
Two batters after Tejada, Markakis connected on a 410-foot solo homer. Patterson extended the Orioles lead in the sixth inning when he hit a 380-foot solo home run ? his seventh on the season ? to right field. He has now hit safely in 32 of 39 games with an at-bat since the All-Star break.
But, the Twins rallied in the seventh inning off Guthrie, cutting the deficit to 4-3 following home runs by first baseman Justin Morneau and designated hitter Jason Kubel. Morneau?s homer, his 29th of the season, led off the inning while Kubel hit a two-run shot two batters later that also drove in right fielder Michael Cuddyer.
Minnesota completed the comeback the following inning. The Twins tied the game at 4-4 as Kubel drove in Morneau with a sacrifice fly off of reliever Jamie Walker, who replaced Hoey (1-2) after he allowed two hits to open the inning. Casillia then drove in the eventual game-winning run three batters later.
Santana (14-9) settled down after the first inning as he allowed four runs, eight hits and one walk while striking out seven over seven innings. Joe Nathan pitched a scoreless ninth to pick up his 28th save on the year.
NOTES: Pitcher Radhames Liz will start for the Orioles 7:15 p.m. game Saturday against the Twins Matt Garza at Camden Yards. The team recalled the 24-year-old right-hander from Double-A Bowie where he was 11-4 with a 3.22 ERA. He is 6-0 with a 2.20 ERA, 73 strikeouts and 27 walks over his last 10 starts ? Orioles 2007 first-round draft pick catcher Matt Wieters was scheduled to fly to Lowell, Mass. Friday morning where he could join short-season Single-A Aberdeen. Wieters will work out with the team for several days on their road trip before possibly being activated.
MOST VALUABLE PLAYER: Johan Santana struggled early, but didn?t get fazed after allowing three runs in the first inning. He settled down after that and left after going seven innings while striking out seven and walking one.
ALL-STAR PERFORMANCE: Jason Kubel played a big role in the Twins late-inning comeback that included a two-run homer in the seventh and a game-tying sacrifice fly in the eighth inning.
OVERLOOKED: Jeremy Guthrie helped provide relief to an Orioles pitching staff still reeling from its 30-3 loss earlier in the week by allowing three runs and nine hits over 6 2/3 innings. The Twins scored all of their runs in the seventh inning.
OOPS!: Jason Kubel hit a one-out double in the fifth inning. But the Orioles received a break moments later when the designated hitter slipped rounding third following a single by left fielder Jason Tyner. Baltimore catcher Ramon Hernandez eventually tagged Kubel out after getting caught in a rundown.
FROM THE DUGOUT: Dave Trembley let Guthrie battle through some struggles in the seventh inning after the rookie allowed two home runs. However, Trembley went to Jim Hoey in the bullpen after Guthrie allowed a soft single to shortstop Jason Bartlett with two out in the inning. Ron Gardenhire never wavered with his starter either as he allowed Santana to go at least five inning for his 118 straight start.
