CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — The carpenters strike has halted some work on several Cedar Rapids projects.

The stoppage began Wednesday, after contracts for several trade unions expired.

Local 308 business agent Dave Hogan told Cedar Rapids station KGAN (http://bit.ly/10uysPC) that it’s the first general carpenter strike in 20 years.

The primary issue is money, both sides say.
