At Monday’s debate in Lowell, Massachusetts, Democratic Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren was asked to name a Republican senator she would work with if she’s elected. Warren answered by saying Richard Lugar, the senior and outgoing Republican from Indiana. Debate moderator David Gregory informed Warren that Lugar would not be in the Senate next year and asked again for a Republican senator “who will be there” with whom she would work. Warren was unable to name another Republican.
Lugar, who was defeated in his Republican primary in May by Richard Mourdock, has just announced his endorsement of Warren’s GOP opponent, Scott Brown. Here’s Lugar’s statement:
