Another poll has Trump ahead in Indiana

Donald Trump has a leg up on fellow Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz among GOP primary voters in Indiana, according to a Fox News poll released Friday evening.

The New York businessman leads the Texas senator by eight points among Hoosiers, 41 percent to 33 percent. Ohio Gov. John Kasich received 16 percent of support in the April 18-21 poll, which had a 4 percent margin of error.

The poll was only the second to be conducted ahead of Indiana’s May 3 primary. Other nearby states, Michigan and Illinois, have gone to Trump while Cruz snagged Wisconsin earlier this month, making the Hoosier State a point of contention in the race to 1,237 delegates.

The GOP front-runner edged his competition among women voters, taking in 36 percent of their support despite feeling some blowback in other states following his Twitter attack on Cruz’s wife Heidi.

Cruz pulled in 33 percent of women and Kasich was backed by 20 percent.

Trump also outperformed the two other candidates among Indiana men, receiving 44 percent of their support. A net 33 percent backed Cruz while 13 percent preferred Kasich.
