Even Examiner columnists chose to believe the lie Re: “Now, can we get on with the real debate?” Editorial April 28
This editorial encourages us to move on, but before we do, some self-reflection is in order. Some Examiner columnists have questioned President Obama’s citizenship. In addition to Star Parker’s appearance on the Glenn Beck TV show, I can recall specific columns by Diana West, Matt Patterson and former columnist Melanie Scarborough.
Reading those old columns again, I was reminded of contributions by folks like Noemie Emery, who psychoanalyzed liberals for their hatred of Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann. Perhaps future Examiner columns could psychoanalyze the people who questioned the president’s native status.
We really won’t be able to move on until we can properly answer the elephant-sized question in the room: Why did so many people choose to believe the lie that Obama wasn’t an American? It might help us to understand what prompts The Examiner to print pointlessly provocative headlines like “Obama disses white guys”.

Released birth certificate raises more questions
I am shocked and dismayed that The Examiner swallowed the Kool-Aid on the birth certificate issue. Anybody can get a certificate of live birth just by requesting one after the fact. It doesn’t matter whether the request is mailed from Kenya — or from Hawaii at a later date.
Further, even the birth certificate President Obama revealed has problems. It was printed on laser paper (bottom left corner) which is odd since the first laser printer was invented in 1969 and entered into production in 1971, 10 years after Obama’s birth.
Secondly, and even more curious, is a faint date stamp printed on the back of the form in reverse which reads JUN 8, 2007 in blue ink and is barely visible. You need a mirror to read it. This would have been the date on which the Original Certificate of Live Birth was received at the Office of Public Records to be filed. This action would have occurred within days of birth as a matter of administrative protocol by the hospital.
These two facts are very troublesome to say the least. Please do your homework before swallowing the liberal story.

Truce does not change goal of destroying Israel
Re: “Palestinian officials say unity agreement reached,” April 28
Considering their common objectives — namely the ultimate destruction of the Jewish state — the new unity agreement reached by the Fatah government in the West Bank and Hamas in Gaza should surprise no one. Their united front was ordained from the start, with Egypt arranging for the truce between these two factions.
From its inception, Hamas has tried to achieve its objective by violence, whereas Fatah has taken a varied military and political approach. Now Fatah can serve as cover for terrorists while Hamas has a voice in the international community.
Both Israel and the United States should recognize this as a political ploy to allow terror to continue while attempting to squeeze concessions from both nations. However, the ultimate goal of Fatah and Hamas has not changed.
