Director Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Oprah Winfrey have joined forces with first lady Michelle Obama and Jill Biden in their initiative to honor our troops by creating three new public service announcements for the U.S. Armed Forces. Each recorded PSA shares a different story of a service member and their sacrifice, and keeps a constant theme to acknowledge that “behind every service man and woman, there is a family that serves as well. Now, it is our turn to say thanks.”
Obama hopes this campaign will be a call to action. “Through this PSA campaign, Americans will learn more about the unique challenges and needs of our military families, see their strength, resilience and service, and find out how they can give back to these extraordinary troops and families who have given us so much,” she said.
