Montgomery County police charged two brothers, including a 17-year-old, with an armed carjacking May 6 in Silver Spring.
Eduardo Gomez, 17, of the 1000 block of Quebec Terrace, and Luis Gomez, 20, of the same address, were arrested on Thursday and charged with two counts each of armed robbery, armed carjacking, first-degree assault and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
Police said the brothers carjacked two men in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 8200 block of Greenwood Avenue in Silver Spring around 11:30 p.m., May 6. The two men were standing outside their cars when the brothers approached them with knives and a handgun and demanded the victims’ wallets and cars. Both cars were recovered several days later.
No injuries were reported.
The two men later identified the Gomez brothers from police photos, a police spokesman said.
Eduardo Gomez has been charged as an adult.
Both brothers were being jailed Friday pending a $750,000 bond.
