The husband of Facebook’s celebrated chief operating officer died suddenly last night.
Dave Goldberg, 47, whose wife is Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, 45, died unexpectedly, according to his brother, Robert Goldberg, who announced the death on his Facebook page.
“It’s with incredible shock and sadness that I’m letting our friends and family know that my amazing brother, Dave Goldberg, beloved husband of Sheryl Sandberg, father of two wonderful children, and son of Paula Goldberg, passed away suddenly last night,” Robert Goldberg wrote. “In this time of sorrow, we mourn his passing and remember what an amazing husband, father, brother, son and friend he was.”
Dave Goldberg was the CEO of SurveyMonkey, a cloud-based survey company.
According to Robert Goldberg, Sandberg and the family are asking those who knew Dave Goldberg to “post their memories and pictures of Dave to his Facebook profile.”
Sandberg is also the author of Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead.
