LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities are searching for a driver who fled after causing an accident on a Los Angeles freeway that left two people seriously injured.
The California Highway Patrol says the driver of a black 2003 BMW ran from the scene after crashing his car into a white 2006 Honda late Sunday on the 101 Freeway in Sherman Oaks.
After the collision, the Honda overturned and the BMW came to rest against a guardrail.
City News Service says police officers with a canine unit and helicopter support unsuccessfully searched for the BMW’s driver.
The occupants of the Honda — a 41-year-old Woodland Hills woman and a 32-year-old Santa Clarita man — were transported to a hospital with major injuries.
