D.C. police are looking for information on an armed robbery in Petworth early Monday morning that left one man dead and another with a gunshot wound.
Officers were called to the 900 block of Decatur Street NW at 2:33 a.m. about a man who was shot. At 2:40 a.m., another victim, Oscar Rubio, 21, was found about four blocks away in the 800 block of Crittenden Street. Rubio, who lived in the neighborhood, was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Police did not release the first man’s name as he was a witness to what they believe was an armed robbery leading to the shooting.
Police ask anyone with information about the shooting to call 888-919-CRIME (2746). Tipsters may be eligible for rewards up to $25,000. — Kytja Weir
