Road closures for holiday 8K in DC

Driving in D.C. could be tricky Sunday morning.

Officials will shut down roads and restrict parking from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. for the Jingle All the Way 8K race.

The race will take the following route within the Northwest quadrant of the city:

  • East on Pennsylvania Ave to Constitution Ave
  • East on Constitution Ave to Louisiana Ave
  • Northeast on Louisiana Ave to D Street
  • East on D Street to Delaware Ave
  • North on 1st Street to Columbus Circle
  • U-Turn at Columbus Circle
  • South on First Street to parking lot
  • U-Turn at the parking lot
  • North on 1st Street to D Street
  • West on D Street to 3rd Street
  • South on 3rd Street to Independence Avenue
  • East on Independence Avenue to Washington Avenue
  • Southeast on Washington Avenue to 2nd Street
  • South on 2nd Street to E Street
  • West on E Street to 3rd Street
  • North on 3rd Street to Independence Avenue
  • West on Independence Avenue to 7th Street
  • U-Turn prior to 7th Street
  • East on Independence Avenue to 3rd Street
  • North on 3rd Street to Pennsylvania
  • West on Pennsylvania Ave to 12th Street

The Metropolitan Police Department is encouraging those attending the race to use public transit.
