Driving in D.C. could be tricky Sunday morning.
Officials will shut down roads and restrict parking from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. for the Jingle All the Way 8K race.
The race will take the following route within the Northwest quadrant of the city:
- East on Pennsylvania Ave to Constitution Ave
- East on Constitution Ave to Louisiana Ave
- Northeast on Louisiana Ave to D Street
- East on D Street to Delaware Ave
- North on 1st Street to Columbus Circle
- U-Turn at Columbus Circle
- South on First Street to parking lot
- U-Turn at the parking lot
- North on 1st Street to D Street
- West on D Street to 3rd Street
- South on 3rd Street to Independence Avenue
- East on Independence Avenue to Washington Avenue
- Southeast on Washington Avenue to 2nd Street
- South on 2nd Street to E Street
- West on E Street to 3rd Street
- North on 3rd Street to Independence Avenue
- West on Independence Avenue to 7th Street
- U-Turn prior to 7th Street
- East on Independence Avenue to 3rd Street
- North on 3rd Street to Pennsylvania
- West on Pennsylvania Ave to 12th Street
The Metropolitan Police Department is encouraging those attending the race to use public transit.
