Each week, Yeas & Nays travels to various power spots around the city to see who’s getting their sustenance along with a little deal-making, networking and glad-handing.
For the first time last week, we broke out of our breakfast ritual and headed to the city’s top lunch spot, The Palm.

And as usual, it was a wealth of high rollers. Much of the action centered around the TV over the bar, where American University was trying gamely to upset Tennessee in the NCAA Tournament. Among the backers of the Eagles: Tommy Walker, the Sundance-winning director of the documentary “God Grew Tired of Us.” Walker is now producing “The Black List,” which airs on HBO this September. He’s just finished interviews with Vernon Jordan and Colin Powell.
Meanwhile, in the back of the restaurant, we spotted longtime PR guru and Washington Senators stadium announcer Charlie Brotman, as well as a couple of guys we’re sure he’s pitched over the years: Al Eisele, editor at large of The Hill newspaper, and Bill Regardie, the onetime editor of Regardie’s.
And as we were on our way in, Washington superlawyer (and newly published author) Bob Bennett was on his way out.
