U.S. District Judge Mark Walker on Wednesday ordered Florida’s voter registration deadline extended by one week, until Tuesday, Oct. 18, because of Hurricane Matthew.
The deadline had already been extended one day from Tuesday to Wednesday in the battleground state following the hurricane.
Republican Gov. Rick Scott had originally said the deadline would not be extended, but the Florida Democratic Party pushed to overturn his decision.
