A Red Line Metro train dumped off hundreds of passengers at Dupont Circle at around 9 a.m. due to mechanical problems with the train’s doors.
Metro spokesman Reggie Woodruff said the problems cleared up a short time later, and passengers were once again allowed to board the train at the Metro Center station.
He said it was not clear whether passengers leaning or blocking the doors had caused the malfunction.
