To accompany the holiday film of the same name, “Charlotte?s Web: The Game” was recently released by SEGA and Nickelodeon and looks like a great title for kids and parents alike.

You play as Wilbur for most of the game, pausing every once in a while to play as Fern, Wilbur?s owner, or Templeton, Wilbur?s rodent friend.

Overall, it?s a basic platformer. You jump around and collect things as a pig. Wilbur pulls ropes to open doors, head-butts fences to knock ?em down and sits on goose eggs to help them hatch.

The real charm of this game comes from the many quick mini-games that you can unlock. From brushing Wilbur?s teeth to helping Charlotte the spider spell words, the mini-games make for a great quick play perfect for a handheld system.

Also unlockable from the single-player “adventure” mode are storybook pages that tell the plot of E.B. White?s classic kids? tale.

Disney?s Chicken Little: Ace in Action (DS, PS2)

Try tank driving, hovership piloting or just take the fight to the baddies on foot in Disney and Buena Vista Games? Ace in Action.

Based on the alter egos of last year?s hit film “Chicken Little” ?s main characters Chicken, Runt, Abby and Fish Out of Water, Ace in Action sets you up as Chicken and friends playing the new game based on their movie with you.

You play as Ace, heroic space soldier, voiced by “Family Guy” ?s Adam West, as he fights the evil Foxy Loxy.

The controls are pretty simple, a lot of running around and shooting. While you can aim with the right analog stick, most of the targeting is automatic, taking a lot of the difficulty out of the title.

One of the best things about this game is the voice acting. Zach Braff, Joan Cusack and the rest of the original cast play the entertaining cut scenes and periodically comment on the action in the game.

The gameplay is a little watered down, but the fun side story makes you want to beat the levels to watch the next cut scene.
