DALLAS (AP) — The items removed in barrels by a decontamination crew from the Dallas apartment where an Ebola patient diagnosed in the U.S. was staying have been hauled away for disposal.
Dallas city spokeswoman Sana Syed said that about 30 barrels were filled Friday with items including bed sheets, towels and three mattresses used by Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan before he was hospitalized. They were then hauled away Friday night.
She said that next, everything else in the house will be disposed of, including the carpet.
Duncan, who traveled to Dallas from Liberia last month, had been staying in the apartment before being diagnosed. Four people quarantined in the apartment after Duncan’s hospitalization were moved by officials to another location Friday, leaving personal items behind.
