Pizza delivery man sentenced in NYC rape

NEW YORK (AP) — An 18-year-old man who admitted raping a woman in her Manhattan apartment after delivering pizza to one of her neighbors has been sentenced to 13 years in prison.

Cesar Lucas was sentenced Monday after pleaded guilty to rape and other charges. He also faces 20 years of post-release supervision.

Prosecutors say the attack happened after Lucas brought a pizza to an Upper West Side apartment early on Sept. 29, 2012. They say he got into the sleeping victim’s nearby apartment and raped her while her child was asleep in the same bed.

Lucas’s lawyer, Gary Villanueva, said his client was sorry for his actions.
