Rep. Anthony Weiner has officially anounced he was resigning from Congress, in a short statement in which he talked about his middle-class roots and love of service, but acknowledged that he had become a “distraction.” In a reflection of just how much of a circus the story had become, his statement was interrupted by heckling at several points by somebody shouting out lewd questions. Good riddance to Weiner, and hopefully we can get a break from this story now.
