D.C.’s criminals apparently aren’t partisan.

Three weeks after Mayor Adrian Fenty’s home was burgled, thieves tried to break into Council Chairman Vince Gray’s Hillcrest home, the City Paper reports. Gray is challenging Fenty for the Democratic mayoral nomination.

“They probably heard the alarm and I guess they took off,” Gray said.

City Paper’s Jason Cherkis doesn’t like the trend line: “First, thieves rob bikes from Mayor Fenty’s home and now this. Leo Alexander should think about upgrading his home security system.”
