A Washington Commanders fan who won the team’s 50/50 raffle said the check bounced when he finally went to cash it in.
Drew Shipley won the raffle in September but had to remain persistent in questioning the whereabouts of his $14,000 winnings. He said he finally got the check 40 days after winning but was left with a $15 service charge when the check bounced.

“It’s the principle of the matter of how [the Commanders] handled it, starting at the communication level, retaining the employees, retaining customers as season ticket holders,” Shipley told FOX5. “This is my first season, I just moved out here. How are you going to retain these people who are spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars a season?”
Shipley said the Commanders organization wired him the money Wednesday afternoon.
The Commanders issued a statement saying there was a bank error and would be following up with the bank to figure out what went wrong. The organization said it had reached out to Shipley to apologize.
