More pancakes and burritos in the District

Don’t worry — the burritos and pancakes aren’t being offered at the same place. Another IHOP and possibly another Chipotle are coming to D.C.

IHOP has announced it plans to open a new location in the District’s Columbia Heights neighborhood on Tuesday. It will be the breakfast chain’s 1,500 nationwide.

The IHOP is franchised by DC Pancakes LLC, a subsidiary of D.C.-based The Jackson Investment Group, owned by the family that includes Clarence Jackson Jr., a residential developer, and former NFL defensive end Tyoka Jackson.

The Columbia Heights IHOP is the second in a three-location franchise agreement for the Jackson family.

In a less certain but still promising move, Chipotle is asking for zoning to build and open a new location in Glover Park, the neighborhood between Georgetown and Tenleytown. The address noted in the zoning request for 2338 Wisconsin Ave. was the home of Pizza Hut.

Chipotle’s hearing is scheduled for Nov. 30.
