Ward 7 seeing the light

Energy-efficient bulbs are lighting up more Ward 7 homes.

Seventy-two D.C. residents ages 14 to 21 are going door-to-door with the free lightbulbs as part of Project Dream Green, an initiative funded by the District Department of the Environment. The youth are educating residents about energy conservation as they go from house to house, as well as picking up trash along the Anacostia River.

Project Dream Green is focusing on Ward 7 because it experiences pollution and has residents who want to change that, said project coordinator Chris Bradshaw. Most of the youth participating in the project reside in Northeast.
