Nationals outfielder Nyjer Morgan has been suspended seven games by Major League Baseball for “inappropriate actions” during the ninth inning of last Saturday’s win at Philadelphia.
Morgan has appealed his suspension and so remains in the lineup tonight against the Chicago Cubs. He threw a ball into the stands in Philadelphia at Citizens Bank Park and struck a fan, according to Bob Watson, MLB’s Vice-President of On-Field Operations. Will have reaction following tonight’s game.
