Montgomery man charged with murdering hospital roommate

A former Montgomery County resident was charged Friday night with murdering his roommate in a Howard County hospital.

Maryland State Police said 22-year-old David Rico-Noyola, formerly of Anne Arundel County, was found on the floor of his hospital room, bleeding, with trauma to his head and body around 2:30 p.m. Friday. Police charged his fellow patient and roommate, Vitaly Davydov, 24, formerly of Montgomery County, with first and second degree murder.

A nurse checked on the two patients only 30 minutes before the assault and observed nothing unusual. Authorities have not yet established a motive for the crime.
