Senators lash out over CDC firings

(The Center Square) – Georgia’s two senators came out swinging after learning the news that more than 1,000 employees at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention were losing their jobs.

The 1,300 CDC employees are some of up to 200,000 federal employees who have been on the job for less than a year. The CDC has 12,664 employees at its Atlanta headquarters, according to the Office of Personnel Management.
